Under 16 hurling team progress to South Leinster Final!
CB Carnew 3-11 Wexford CBS 2-4
The CB Carnew under 16 hurling team progressed to the South Leinster Final after an excellent team performance against a strong Wexford CBS team on Monday, 19th October. With Wexford under 21 manager JJ Doyle among the spectators, this was a very good game played at a fast pace throughout. This game was always going to be a battle and the CB team worked very hard and took their scores well to lead at half time on a scoreline of 3-6 to 0-04. The first half goals from Paddy Doyle (2) and Bradley Crosbie gave CB a lead which a first half of tireless work rate along with some excellent scores had merited. Wexford CBS never gave up and managed to reduce the lead at the beginning of the second half with two well taken goals but CB weathered the storm and now await the winners of the other semi final with a time and date yet to be confirmed for the final. On a day where each player worked extremely hard, special mention is due to Eoin Doyle in defence, the midfield pairing of Eoin D’Arcy and Ian Clancy who covered a huge amount of ground and the clinical finishing of forwards Paddy Doyle and Bradley Crosbie.
