Yesterday Hollie Kavanagh and Anne-Marie Doyle travelled to Croke to join 6000 other students in receiving a national flag at a ceremony there. There was much pomp and prestige about the sporting venue in a ceremony that was hosted by Ryan Tubridy. President Michael D Higgins giving a rousing speech about the history of the Irish Flag and its importance during the 1916 rising. The crowd was also treated to a display from the 12th Battalion army personnel and music from Seo Linn. The students really enjoyed the day and have returned to the school with a national flag and history of 1916 pack.
