On Friday 6th November the U.17 soccer team played the second match of their league campaign on home ground against Coláiste Chraobh Abhann, Kilcoole . In a keenly contested encounter Coláiste Bhríde eventually emerged victorious on a score line of 2-1. We led at half-time 1-0 thanks to a fortuitous cross/shot from Eoin Darcy. The match was very much in the balance at this stage with both sides having chances.
Early in the second half, after sustained pressure, we increased our lead thanks to a lovely chip from Keith Crosbie. However, almost immediately we conceded. This led to a tense finish to the match but Carnew held out.
Best on the day were Curtis Keating(Cpt), Ross Patterson and Frankie Kavanagh. Next up is Arklow CBS on Thursday 12th November.
